At Hotchkiss Daily & Associates, Inc., we are especially interested in source material for film/tv coming from narrative non-fiction, memoir, literary fiction, elevated science fiction and horror, women’s fiction (other than romance); and children’s stories including young adult novels, middle-grade chapter books, and picture books. We also have a specialty in working with the life story rights of interesting people to adapt their stories for film and television.

The company was founded by Jody Hotchkiss after more than a decade as the film/tv agent for Sterling Lord Literistic Literary Agency. The range of his representation includes compelling and unusual life stories, narrative non-fiction, elevated character and thriller fiction, literary fiction, memoir, and children’s books especially in the areas of Young Adult fiction and unique picture books.  Previously, Jody was the Vice President for East Coast Production at MGM, and he started his career as an editor at Crown Publishers.

Sean Daily joined the company in 2004 and represents a wide range of literary and commercial fiction and non-fiction, but his particular areas of interest include character-rich narrative non-fiction, elevated thrillers, sci-fi, and horror, unique children’s books for all ages, and well executed high concept ideas across all genres. Sean previously worked and taught in film production and served as the Director of Submissions for Chicago Community Cinema (now the Midwest Independent Film Festival.) He is a graduate of The University of Chicago and plays the viola da gamba.
